Our paralegal collaborates closely with our attorneys and case managers to conduct extensive legal and medical research and produce well-crafted written materials. They meticulously examine the client's electronic files and case history to extract pertinent medical and case-related information, paying careful attention to any potential issues that may require immediate attention. The ideal candidate possesses excellent written skills and possesses the ability to captivate readers with persuasive theories and legal arguments. They engage in effective communication with clients, medical facilities, and government entities, as necessary, to ensure comprehensive case documentation. The role involves comprehensive review of records and the preparation of various documents, including briefs, legal memoranda, and other relevant content. This position offers a significant level of autonomy, allowing personal style preferences and granting responsibility over case files.
Key Skills/Responsibilities:
Thoroughly review documents, primarily medical records and other correspondence.
Conduct research based on pertinent medical findings and legal arguments.
Maintain open communication with case managers and attorneys regarding any relevant case issues.
Prepare case file summaries and briefs, which will be reviewed by attorneys, along with other necessary content, from the pre-hearing and hearing levels to subsequent appeals at the U.S. District Court.
Create a log of attorney hours and work performed as required for fee petition filing and submission.
Uphold departmental objectives and ensure that the task list remains current.
